Malaysian-led activists plan to hold a symbolic trial this month against former prime minister Tony Blair and former US president George W Bush on charges of committing crimes against peace in the Iraq war.

The Kuala Lumpur War Crimes Tribunal is an initiative of Malaysia's retired prime minister Mahathir Mohamad, who staunchly opposed the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.

Malaysian lawyer Yaacob Hussain Marican said the tribunal will convene a four-day hearing starting on Saturday to determine whether Mr Bush and Mr Blair committed crimes against peace and violated international law in the Iraq invasion.

Mr Yaacob said the effort is modelled on a 1967 Vietnam war crimes panel convened by philosophers Bertrand Russell and Jean-Paul Sartre.

Bush can barely leave teh United States due to his "Arrest on Site" if he tries to enter some foreign countries. Sounds about right, the World Hates him, and have good reason to. 100 countries that say something is bad but one that says its not... doesnt make it alright. Thats Selfishness, Which America has plenty to go around, most notably the GOP.

Nixon said it well:"When the president does it, it is legal." The Imperial Robe is worn with all the zeal by Obama, as Bush wore it.

Shame it is taking another country to do what we in the UK must do if we are to restore any gram of national pride and democracy. I find Blair and Bush both guilty of crimes against humanity for their own personal gain.

Its about time Tony Blair was put on trial in the UK and brought to book for the Iraq war.

A sitting should also be arranged for Gordon Brown to explain why he did not see the credit crunch coming and why government regulators were not up to the job of regulating the banks.

"Mr Yaacob said the effort is modelled on a 1967 Vietnam war crimes panel convened by philosophers Bertrand Russell and Jean-Paul Sartre."
The only difference being: With the right appearance fee, they can probably get the accused to turn up in person.
