Twilight stars Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner rewarded their British fans with a beyond-glamorous appearance on Wednesday night at the London premiere of the fourth instalment of the vampire saga.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn - Part 1 opens on Friday, but the Twi-hard fans, many of whom had travelled overnight to see their idols, were treated to a red carpet appearance from the three main stars of the series at east London's Westfield shopping centre, near where the Olympics are to be held next year.

All three made a special effort for the event, with Kristen Stewart eschewing her usual casual red-carpet look in favour of a black halterneck sequinned dress by Roberto Cavalli.

She also looked unusually good-humoured, grinning from ear to ear on the arm of her on- and off-screen love Pattinson.

Meanwhile, R-Patz and Lautner were both dressed in slimline black suits.

Fans had waited in the cold to get a glimpse of their idols, who descended upon a red and white carpet.

Film buffs have predicted record-breaking ticket sales for the last two parts of the film series, which are adapted from Stephenie Meyer's novels.

Breaking Dawn: Part Two will not be released until November 2012, when the glamorous trio will have to do it all over again, one final time.
