The names Justin Thornton and Thea Bregazzi may not initially ring a bell, but between them they're the creative force behind one of London's most exciting brands of the past decade: Preen.

The designer pair go under the spotlight in the Harrods Review this month, talking everything from design inspirations, to how to make an impact this party season - and of course, who could forget that Michelle Obama moment. (She was the first to showcase the Preen Autumn/Winter 2011 collection during her European tour in the UK back in May.)

"Dressing Michelle Obama was quite a moment for us," they admit. "It was a real honour to outfit such a modern, directional woman with so much influence.

"We love the way she has embraced younger designers and created a new way of dressing for women of all ages. Seeing Mrs. Obama in Preen made our families proud."

The dynamic duo, renowned for their edgy evening wear (remember that infamous 'Power' dress, loved by everyone from Gwyneth Paltrow to Gemma Arterton?) also give their top tips for dressing for success this festive season.

"The party season is all about feeling sexy and a Preen dress makes a woman feel strong and ready for fun," they add.

"We recommend a bold shoe, minimal jewels, friends and cocktails for a big night of festivities."

We couldn't agree more!
