There were nearly as many stars on the red carpet for the premiere of New Year's Eve as there are in the film.
Even Ashton Kutcher, who has been keeping a relatively low profile since announcing his split from wife Demi Moore, was on the red carpet, ably supported by co-star Lea Michele.
Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Katherine Heigl, Hilary Swank and Josh Duhamel - all of whom appear in the multi-layered romantic comedy set in New York on New Year's Eve - also turned out for the LA showing of the film, which producers are hoping will do for the New Year box office what Love Actually did for Christmas.
Jessica Biel, Halle Berry and even Robert De Niro all add their wattage to the roll call of the film, which reads like a current Who's Who of Hollywood - Sarah Jessica Parker, John Bon Jovi and Sofia Vergara are all there too.
New Year's Eve, on UK release later this week, shares the same device as Love Actually of intertwining singles and couples - all intent on not being alone when the bells strike in the new year.
