Hotel Review: Grande Emerald Bay, Great Exuma, Bahamas

Crystal blue seas, dusty white sand and a palatial hotel – what's not to love?

The USP: An all-in-one Caribbean holiday experience on one of Bahamas' most beautiful stretches of white sand.

Book it now if: You want one of those do-nothing, total-relaxation holidays where someone takes care of everything for you!

Bedding down: Rooms are filled with Colonial-style furniture, marble bathrooms and balconies or terraces looking out over the ocean and gardens. Junior suites represent best value for money, or splash out in one of the walkout ocean-front rooms.

Feed me: There are seven different restaurants on the resort, from fine dining at Il Cielo to grilled fish dishes at Barefoot By The Sea. You can even drop into The Drunken Duck pub (transported piece by piece from Ireland) for shepherd's pie and a game of pool.

Easily bored: There are canoes, kayaks, hydro-bikes and windsurfers to borrow on the beach, yoga and pilates in the fitness centre, an 18-hole golf course and, if you can handle the heat, tennis courts, too.

What's the damage: All-inclusive room rates start from around £200 per person, per night.
