Hotel Review: W Barcelona

The USP: Located at the tip of the trendy Barceloneta beach boardwalk, the iconic, sail-shaped W hotel is the only hotel in Barcelona to provide direct access to the beach, whilst also being only a gentle stroll from the thriving centre of this stylish city. However, despite the alluring proximity to one of Europe's most vibrant cities, you'll be easily forgiven if you never want to leave the hotel. There really isn't anything that isn't 'WoW' about this place!

Book now if: You want luxury, style and views all wrapped into one rather fabulous package. And whether it's a day pounding the city streets, soaking up the sun on the beach, or being pampering in the spa, make sure you make a sunset date with the famous Eclipse bar on the 26th floor for a signature cocktail.

Bedding down: The pristine interiors and sumptuous rooms certainly live up to the W's ultra-modern, architecturally acclaimed facade. Plus, with floor-to-ceiling windows, views are spectacular, giving unprecedented panoramas of the city and seascape.

Easily bored: Thanks to Spain's very first Bliss spa, W Barcelona provides yet another luxury indulgence to make your stay that much more enjoyable. The spa menu has enough treats to cater for all and you can easily while away the hours in the sauna and Jacuzzi or relaxation room nibbling on homemade brownies, sipping champagne and reading magazines. If you're a sun seeker, head to the 'WET' deck with its infinity pool and bar (plus freshly mixed tunes by the in-house DJs) or grab some food from the adjacent WAVE restaurant. Finally, if you're feeling energetic, burn off all the treats in the SWEAT gym.

What's the damage: With 475 rooms including 70 suites, there is a real range to choose from. Prices start at 295 EUR and there's plenty of scope for sheer unadulterated luxury.
