Tears At Panto For Sisters Stabbed By Their Policeman Dad

A dance school dedicated its annual panto to the memory of two young sisters who were stabbed by their policeman dad.

Toby Day killed Genevieve, six, in the attack at their family home. Her sister Kimberly, 15, is in hospital along with her brother Adam, 13. Their mother, Samantha, 38, was killed. Day also turned the knife on himself.

Cast and audience at the Trevonne Stage school production of Mother Goose in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, were in tears as the school's owner Trevor Makins told them: "Tonight's performance is dedicated to the Day family. Our prayers are with them. Please rally behind the whole cast."

Kimberley and Genevieve's names were amongst the cast list on the programme. They had attended the dance school for several years.

Their dad, Inspector Day, 37, had been sacked from his job in the police force nine days ago for misuse of police systems. It is reported that he had used the national police computer to look for a man he believed was having an affair with his wife, Samantha.

Kimberley and Adam were in a stable condition in hospital last night with their grandparents by their bedsides.
