Two months after giving birth to baby Giulia, French First Lady Carla Bruni made her first official appearance yesterday – spreading happiness to some other children.
She hosted the Christmas party at the Elysee presidential palace and handed out presents to children from Alsace.
Looking casual and relaxed in a long, baggy camel-coloured polo-neck sweater, Carla mixed with the kids and their families - but unfortunately for well-wishers, kept her own baby very much out of the limelight.
Carla, 43, has taken great pains to keep her daughter out of the public eye since she was born on October 19.
