Jason Gardiner Beats Matthew Wright, Jeremy Clarkson To Ofcom's Most Offensive, X Factor High Up

Ofcom's Most Offensive Figure - Who Beat Clarkson?

We relish in being a nation of whingers, so it's always a good day when the annual Ofcom list of complaints is released - what's been the biggest culprit of the year?

While the number one slot goes to Matthew Wright, for his Taggart impersonation after the death of a teenager in Scotland, the most consistent offender, it seems, is Jason Gardiner, with two appearances in the top five of Ofcom's list.

Wright got 2,200 recorded Ofcom reactions with his big grin and repeated attempts at "There's been another murder", with Gardiner the runner-up, bizarrely, with 784 complaints, for making Karen Barber cry on Dancing On Ice.

But Gardiner is officially the nation's single most offensive figure with another entry at number four, for mentioning "missing chromosomes" in the same show.

The X Factor is the most consistently offensive show, it seems, with 15 mentions in the top 100, including two nods just in the top ten. Frankie Cocozza didn't endear himself to everyone with his often bare bottom and rock-star preenings.

So where's Jeremy Clarkson? Well, it seems that the Ofcom list doesn't include complaints made to broadcasters, so the full wrath following his outbursts on The One Show have gone unrecorded.

But fret not, Jeremy has not been forgotten - he's in there at number three AND number six with his Top Gear crew....
