Hip hop artist Kid Cudi has taken to his blog to express how moved he was by a fan’s videos left just before his death of a heart attack.
Ben Breedlove, 18, suffered from hypertrophic cardiomyopathy his whole life, and died of a heart attack on Christmas day.
His family discovered two videos he made telling his story, using handwritten text, and released them shortly afterwards.
The videos went viral, as did Breedlove’s description of a vision of the rapper he experienced as paramedics tried to resuscitate him when his heart stopped.
The teenager, from Austin, Texas, described being transported to a white room with Cudi.
He wrote on a flashcard: “Why he was the only one there with me I’m still trying to figure out.”
The vision saw the rapper, whose real name is Scott Mescudi, lead him to a white desk just as Ben’s favourite song Mr Rager begins playing.
Cudi responded on his blog: "Iam (sic) so sad about Ben Breedlove. I watched the video he left for the world to see, and him seeing me in detail, in his vision really warmed my heart. I broke down, Iam (sic) to tears because I hate how life is so unfair.
"This has really touched my heart in a way I cant (sic) describe, this is why I do what I do. Why I write my life, and why I love you all so much.
"Life is really f***** up sometimes, but I know Ben is at Peace, and I hope he gets a chance to sit and talk with my Dad. We love you Ben. Forever. Thank you for loving me. To Ben’s family, you raised a real hero, he’s definately (sic) mine. You have my love.

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a hereditary condition in which the heart muscle becomes thickened.
