Sinead O'Connor Recovering From Suicide Bid

Troubled singer Sinead O'Connor was last night recovering from a suicide bid after taking an overdose of pills.

The Nothing Compares 2 U star, 45, who has a history of depression, made a desperate cry for help on Twitter yesterday claiming she was "in danger" if she did not get the correct medication.

Luckily, the singer, who is currently in Dublin, got the help she needed after struggling to find psychiatric care in the city.

The star, who is now working on getting back to health, said: "God obviously wants me around - though I can't think why."

Sinead first overdosed on pills last Thursday in Los Angeles and again tried to kill herself this week after being treated in an Irish hospital for a broken ankle.

The singer, who rose to fame in the late 1980s, has admitted to struggling with the recent attention surrounding her quickie Las Vegas marriage to drugs counsellor Barry Herridge last month.

She split from Barry just 16 days later, revealing that she went on a wild hunt for crack cocaine on their wedding night. However, the couple reconciled days later after a night of passion.

Taking to Twitter yesterday in a desperate cry for help, the star wrote: "Does any1 know a psychiatrist in Dublin or Wicklow who could urgently see me today please? I'm really un-well... and in danger..."

She later thanked her fans for their support, tweeting: "I love u all so much for that and am feeling much better."

Speaking of her ordeal, Sinead told The Sun: "I just had to make a cry for help."
