'X Factor' Contestant Jonjo Kerr To Fight In Afghanistan

From 'X Factor' Stage To Afghan Warzone

Former X Factor contestant Jonjo Kerr is to head to Afghanistan with the Yorkshire Regiment next month.

The father of two, who has previously been to the desert war zone as part of his duties, took part in the most recent series of The X Factor but was eliminated from the show last October.

The experienced fighter, 28, says that his main focus now is returning to the war stricken country but is determined to pursue his singing career further in the future.

"I always said X Factor was my dream and being in the Army was my job, and now my main focus is on Afghanistan."

Jonjo has fond memories of his X Factor experience but says the most difficult change to deal with will be not seeing his wife and sons every day.

He said: "X Factor was a brilliant experience, but my main focus now is the Army.

"The hardest thing is going to be leaving behind my wife Mel and sons.

"Bradley has just turned seven and Dominic is only seven months, so I'm going to really miss them."
