Prince William and Kate Middleton are to run through central London in a bid to raise money for charity.

The royal couple are in talks to jog the London Mile together to raise funds for Sports Relief and organisers are hoping 29-year-old William and Kate, 30, will run down The Mall in front of Buckingham Palace on 25 March.

According to the Daily Mirror, a source said: "We are in talks with the Prince's representatives and understand he is eager to support the event, as he has done previously. We're hopeful Kate will be able to do it too.

"It's a huge honour to have the support of the Royal Family for this event, which raises millions of pounds for people in poverty in both the UK and abroad. We hope hundreds of thousands of Brits will follow in their footsteps to run a Sport Relief mile somewhere in the country to raise cash."

Other stars taking part in the fundraising extravaganza include JLS, who have recorded an official Sport Relief single, and comics Miranda Hart and John Bishop.

It will be interesting seeing Duch Kate do solo trips this year...she has stepped up to the plate and will be interesting to see if she can handle the pressure on her own.

Well that's one way of getting rid of the competition. Wonder if the others will be ordered to hold back and let them win.

Another day off from his job, there he is after blowing the brains out of boar and deer for a fun weekend with his step brother in Spain hes now showing hes in touch with the common people and people are taken in with this cr*p. Get real lives you royal wasters and stop being a burden to us commoners.

Lots of people shoot animals - ask Americans. In case you have missed the news, Prince William works for this country within the armed forces and supports several charities, as well as attending formal functions with the view to increase British business.

Work, he doesn't know the meaning of the word. He and his brother are spoilt brats.

Couldn't they just keep on running...perhaps to another continent? They could then settle down and live happily ever after without the British taxpayer funding their fairy tale lifestyle.

Somehow, I just don't think the British public respect the Royals anymore. So that has cheered me up!

Speak for yourself. I respect people who pull their own weight and add something to the country they live in. They both work and do their duty - more than most can say.

You're wrong; but I bet you're used to being wrong as you come across as a fool.

Hope they can find the appropriate number of royal protection officers to do it as well don't forget they have to carry guns and radios as well.

Plus 6 members of Royal Security and then the extra Policing that will be needed. This might be costing the poor tax payer upwards of an additional £1/m!

Security alone for the royals cost us millions, and people worship them for visiting a hospital and cutting ribbons. The rest of their time is spent partying. The princes may have jobs(whyshouldn't they) but they are never in any danger. A spell in a war zone, and i don't mean surrounded by security, will teach them what work is. Their lives are no more important than anyone elses.
