Alex Reid has demanded a public apology from TOWIE star Joey Essex for saying that glamour model Chantelle Houghton "used to get about a bit".

The 36-year-old cagefighter was seething after learning of the reality star's recent comments about his pregnant fiancee, made in The Sun's Fabulous magazine.

In the interview, Joey was given a choice between Essex celebrities Denise Van Outen, Stacey Solomon and Chantelle for a game of Snog, Marry, Avoid.

Joey answered: "(Denise) is well fit. How old is she? She's gorgeous. Well I'd marry her, snog Stacey thingy and avoid Chantelle. She used to get about a bit, didn't she?"

But fiance Alex headed straight to Twitter.com to protest, writing: "@JoeyEssex_ thought we were friendly, guess not after ur salacious defamatory comment in Sun bout @chantellehought. I expect an apology."

Alex and Chantelle, who have been dating for nine months, are awaiting the birth of their first child in May.

They have been engaged since October when Alex, Jordan's ex-husband, proposed to Chantelle live on an Irish TV chat show.
