She'd obviously get a, usually one time, performance royalty/fee but z-e-r-o money for the lucrative song writer royalty from sales, and broadcast from Day 1 and perpetuity. There is basically no royalty paid in the US for performers, unlike the UK which is why their charts are always littered with covers....
That royalty structure is why Dolly Parton will see a big payday from sales and playback of, "I Will Always...", Clive Davis will make money, Sony, (who upped the price ofHouston's Greatest Hits within hours of her death), will make HUGE money.
