One of the most surprising trends to hit the Oscars red carpet last night was surely the abundance of cleavage. While much of the style seen on the runways at the recent New York, London and Milan fashion weeks has erred on androgynous or at least buttoned-up and ladylike chic, we were pleased to last night's A-listers putting their sexuality front and centre.

First up was Viola Davis whose impressive bosom appeared to be barely contained within her fabulous Vera Wang gown.Elsewhere plunging necklines were order of the day.

Plunge pro J Lo did herself proud in Zuhair Murad gown, before switching to a similarly revealing eye-popping Zuhair Murad sequinned gown at the Vanity Fair party.

Meanwhile Berenice Bejo and Meryl Streep also wore deep V gowns, by Elie Saab and Lanvin respectively, and both with stunning results.
