Oscars' Worst Dressed: Meryl Streep And Emma Stone Make Massive Dress Errors

Meryl Streep

Meryl Streep may have taken home the coveted Best Lead Actress prize at last night's Oscars, but she didn't get it completely right at the 84th Academy Awards. The star of The Iron Lady caused the critics to sharpen their claws when she opted to dress like the golden Oscar statuette seen behind her in all the post-victory shots.

The Help star Emma Stone also made a surprising red carpet fashion faux pas, dressing much older than her years in a high-necked red gown, far too redolent in colour and style to a dress worn by Nicole Kidman a few years previously..

I thought Emma and Meryl both looked lovely and Angelina looked AWFUL and the only reason reviewers are giving her "best dressed" votes is because they think she has power.

I t woul have been more appropriate for them all to dress down in sympathy with the state of the world economies, jeans and sweaters, although I suppose they dont pay for their posh frocks, its all a cat walk for the dress designers.

Meryl is in desperate need of a stylist.

I disagree. I thought both of them looked great. Meryl is one of the few that can pull off the gold. If I recall, thirty years ago, she wore gold and she won that night as well.
