Holly Willoughby In Tears On This Morning Over Guest Family's Story

Holly Willoughby

This Morning host Holly Willoughby broke down in tears after hearing a heartbreaking tale of a family rocked by cancer.

She and co-host Phillip Schofield were interviewing St John Greene who has written a book inspired by the loss of his wife Kate, who died at the age of 37.

But as she spoke to her guest and his two sons Reef and Finn, Holly was unable to control her emotions.

The presenter, dabbing away her tears, told the boys: "I'm a very silly lady."

Kate died after being diagnosed with breast cancer, but had left a list of things she wanted her young family to do after she was gone.

Her husband has published the story in a book called Mum's List, and there is interest in bringing it to life as a film.

He told the ITV1 presenters: "I was very proud to have her as my other half."

Holly finished the interview sitting next to the two boys still dabbing away her tears, and later pointed out that the programme's make-up team had to fix her face.

Have you noticed how Holly's smile looks like the Joker's smile in the Batman Film?
03:26 PM on 03/03/2012
yes it is , i had not noticed that before but are right.

she's not only unprofessional she is way out her depth. She is absolutely pathetic. Can't interview to save her life. She isn't even interested in what people have to say.

very good points steamboats, she constantly watches the monitor to she how she looks. as i have said with out her family being senior producers she would never have got near a tv programme.

if she must be on then surely the best programme for her is loose women with the rest of the harridan failures.

what is the point in commenting if Huf Puf remove what they don't like?

again excellent point i have noticed that many of the points made that are critical of her have been removed. it is no doubt the work of the sad sheep that trawl the site looking for any comments that are critical of their heroes. they are usually sad wannabe girls who idolise sad Z listers like this silly woman

I broke down in tears at a woman's house because she was young and dying - I was there in a professional capacity. She had two toddlers who were losing their mother. Unprofessional? No. A person showing compassion for another dying person? Yes.
All those who are calling her unprofessional need to have a heart. Being stonefaced and cold isn't the way to dael with these situations - being compassionate is. I love Holly on This Morning.

are you for real?

Madmother1981,

I disagree. To stay professional means being able to keep your feelings to yourself and out of the situation that you're in so that the professional can operate without partiallity and, in this case, draw out the best storey from the guest. I don't mean stone-faced and cold, I mean impartial, searching and interesting for the viewers. However nobody is perfect.

I saw the interview and it made me cry too and it prompted me to order their book. Holly is a lovely lady and has feelings too, just because she is a TV presenter doesn't mean she's a robot....!

No body cried on breakfast this morning.

I love Holly - she is beautiful but equally very normal and a great lady to have on our telly.

At least one person on television is a human.
03:36 PM on 03/03/2012
so by your thinking Schofield is not human? i would say he has more heart and soul than her.

I will try again ,at least she has feelings not like you moronic twits
05:09 PM on 03/02/2012
every one has feelings but she is a presenter and should not show them.
12:18 AM on 03/03/2012
thereiver,

Spot on, she's at work and charged with drawing out the most interesting story for the viewers. This may mean a very sad and emotional article, but she has to be just far enough removed from the situation to steer the interview in an interesting direction.

I think its great that we have presenters that are human and act that well the idea of this morning is housewife type people watching it while doing thier chores etc i love it when they are moved or laugh or make a slip upi think its part of the appeal of the show if you would like to watch a unpersonal and scripted interview watch the news channels

Ok by the same token of "unprofessionalism" Richard and Judy & Philip and Fern were always wasting time falling about laughing being silly and showing emotion during the show, does this mean they too, are very bad journalists? Personally, I just think they are human. I also feel that the general public don't really care that much unless its detrimental to their viewing.
01:53 PM on 03/02/2012
yeh get your point but on the ther hand if you watched this man telling the story of his wife and trying to get his story told, the last thing you as a viewer want is a women blubbing away. She needs to get a grip and show respect to people who they have as guests on, instead of crying so all the attention gets put upon her.

Holly not "a very silly lady" I'd say very REAL lady. Professionalism is showing humanity too in this cold cold world.

real she is a plastic waste of space she gets her jobs because her husband and sister are producers, she is as thick as her backside.
