David Beckham looks on in dismay

David Beckham got his H&M boxers in a twist in Toronto on Wednesday when a beer can was thrown onto the pitch.

With LA Galaxy trailing 2-1 in the first leg against Toronto FC, the Toronto fans showered Beckham with toilet roll.

Then a beer can came crashing down from the stands and landed by the ball, much to the dismay of the ex-Manchester United midfielder.

Beckham picked up the can to show the officials, expressing his anger at such inhospitable behaviour, before tossing it off the pitch.

Don't look Beck in anger, David

Becks had the last laugh, however. From the corner, Landon Donovan equalised, prompting the Englishman to gyrate in front of the crestfallen Canadians.

Raining rolls

It is not the first time Beckham has received stick from American soccer fans. In July 2009, Goldenballs was embroiled in an altercation with fans of his own side.

Following a five-month loan spell with AC Milan, some of the west-coast team's followers heckled the ex-England captain for a perceived lack of loyalty to the team, with some fans holding up signs saying "Go home fraud", and "Part time player".

Beckham even had to be restrained by stewards when he tried to confront one fan, making a "come on gesture".

My God, Canadian's (and sometime USA's) so-called "soccer fans" couldn't be more ignorant than this! Well, perhaps they could be. The worst thing is, it's not just them who are ignorance, but the media as well. Did you guys know that it is NOT OKAY to throw things into the pitch when the game is ON-GOING??!! It has nothing to do about hospitability, but it's about the safety and more importantly, about disrupting and stalling the game for BOTH of the teams, not just the opposition team. This also shows how ignorant the officiating and the security over there as well! You wouldn't see this kind of behaviour from those in Europe or other parts in the world, no matter how much they hate the player and the team, because the officials and the security in other parts of the world would not allow it! If this is happening, those fans will be caught and be fined and be baned from the stadium for future games! Pfffft!

You obviously don't know or watch much football. This goes on in Europe and the rest of the world. Maybe no so bad as in this game but fans still throw object on to the pitch.
