You may know Kevin Spacey best as a Hollywood A-lister but at the launch of the Old Vic's PwC Under 25s Club, the actor was speaking energetically and enthusiastically about getting younger generations fired up about the world of live theatre thanks to the Old Vic's subsidised ticket scheme.

Spacey, who took on the role of Artistic Director at the Old Vic theatre in 2004, has long been a champion of getting under 25s excited about the arts - and with good reason: "If we don't make theatre accessible then you force producers to always have to have big names in plays and you don't give young people an opportunity to experience something that, if they get it and if they love it, they will come again," he explains.

PricewaterhouseCoopers has now partnered with the theatre in its scheme to help open up the arts world to new audiences through the PwC Under 25s Club which sees 100 tickets per performance available for just £12. That's around the same price as a cinema ticket - in some cases, less.

PwC chairman, Ian Powell explained the accountancy firm's support of the arts was more than just paying lip service to social responsibility: "Support for the arts is about more than just philanthropy. Opening up access to the arts benefits business and society as a whole."
