Why The Final 'Phantom Menace' Light Saber Fight Isn't As Good As You Remember It Was (VIDEO)

Posted: Updated:

There's no doubt about it - Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace was a big ol' disappointment. But most people will begrudgingly admit that despite all its flaws - of which there were really quite a few - the final light saber fight with Darth Maul was pretty decent... or was it?

Just take a look this video from French YouTuber 'FirstManOnTheSpoon'. Taking certain sections of the fight and slowing them down and/or speeding them up, he reveals that there's no real peril going on at all - and no-one makes much attempt to hurt anyone else, instead flailing their sabers around and dancing about like idiots.

"Aim like a drunkard" is one of his finest lines in this mock-guide on how to swing a light saber. Trust us, once you get to it, you'll giggle. If you're a bit of a nerd, that is.

And if you really want to get in on the Phantom Menace hating, check out this immortal and utterly brilliant dissection of its terrible terribleness - a NSFW YouTube review in seven parts...
