Amanda Holden To Host Andrew Lloyd Webber's ITV1 Show 'Jesus Christ Superstar'

Holy Role For Amanda

Amanda Holden has revealed she will be the host of Andrew Lloyd Webber's ITV1 talent show Jesus Christ Superstar.

The Britain's Got Talent judge let slip the decision while appearing as a guest on the This Morning. She said: "As I have a West End background, and I nearly met Jesus the other week, I'm the best qualified."

But she added: "We haven't signed on the dotted line yet, but I am. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to talk about it!"

Jesus Christ Superstar aims to find a big talent to lead a revival of Lloyd Webber's seventies rock opera.

Unlike his previous musical reality shows How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria?, I'd Do Anything, Any Dream Will Do and Over The Rainbow, this one will air on ITV1 after he was lured away from the BBC.

Hinting at what's to come, Holden revealed: "They've gone all over the country and Andrew said they've even had some girls auditioning to play Jesus as well."
