George Galloway Weds Fourth Bride Putri Gayatri Pertiwi

George Galloway isn't just celebrating a by-election win - there's also the small matter of getting married.

It's fourth time lucky for the Respect MP after he tied the knot in Amsterdam on Saturday, two days after his victory in Bradford West.

Not that Galloway has much time to celebrate. On his wedding day he was tweeting news of a rally to celebrate his win back in Bradford, and claiming his account was hacked after mysterious tweets appeared about his new constituency 'Blackburn'.

George Galloway
Everyone please join me tomorrow for the victory rally at Infirmary Fields,Manningham,Bradford at 5pm.

The 57-year-old's fourth wife Putri Gayatri Pertiwi is 30 years younger than him at just 27 - and two years younger than his eldest daughter, 29-year-old Lucy.

The Dutch anthropologist has even mentioned her new husband online, plus one-ing the website www.votegeorgegalloway.com on the social network google+.

In her blog she describes herself as a "curious person, vivid, flexible, sometimes stressful, awfully vain, balanced but contradictive, and perhaps therefore always in contemplation."

Galloway, whose third wife gave birth to their child just four months ago, told The Daily Mail: "Putri is an anthropologist and child rights specialist and we have known each other for about six months.

"The next few months will be interesting because I will be working back in Westminster as an MP. But we will be moving around between London, Bradford and Amsterdam."

According to Putri's Linkedin page she has also blogged for Wijblijvenhier.nl, a website for young Dutch Muslims, where she says she views herself as a " 'Dutch Indonesian."

She also writes about her reflections on a 'slut walk' in Amsterdam.

Shameful George. Apart from a few truths in regards to foreign affairs (though it seems you have other motives in mind when you say them) you don't have much going for you.

George Galloway is one of the great humanitarians of our time. But, like Jesus and MLK, such humanitarians tend not to be appreciated while alive. If the British Parliament were composed entirely of George Galloways, it would be the most magnificant legislative body in the world. If the USA Congress had all George Galloways, it would be the equivalent of replacing rotting meat with fresh Filet Mignon.

In fairness, even if you disagree with his views, you will have to admit that his vociferous opposition to the Iraq war was hardly going to help him up the political ladder at the time.
That's not exactly what you might call pandering to "whatever gets him the vote"

All well and good @SuperKK if he was ever there to represent his victims - sorry constituents and give them a voice in parliament, consider the following about Gorgeous George;
Following the 2005 election, his participation rate remained low, at the end of the year he had participated in only 15% of Divisions in the House of Commons since the general election, placing him 634th of 645 MPs – of the eleven MPs below him in the rankings, one is the former Prime Minister Tony Blair, five are Sinn Féin members who have an abstentionist policy toward taking their seats, three are the speaker and deputy speakers and therefore ineligible to vote, and two have died since the election. Galloway claims a record of unusual activity at a "grass roots" level. His own estimate is that he has made 1,100 public speeches between September 2001 and May 2005.

In September 2009, he still had one of the lowest voting participation records in parliament at 8.4% as a total of 93 votes out of a possible 1,113 divisions

And he has the audacity to claim he is too busy making speeches to his subjects to attend the only place he can possibly make a difference, how completely self serving this man is and as for replacing rotting meat in the senate, with George you would have little more than CH4 (methane gas).

Jack's dad, you are a sound man. Fanned. He's a self serving publicity merchant, and I'm sick and tired of reading silly kids admiring him because he makes rhetorical noises about Iraq and the Palestinians

Your post reflects a complete mis-understanding of the value of George Galloway to the UK. With 645 MPs, how much difference will his lone vote make on the passage of any bills, compared to the impact of his speeches and testimonies? This is not to downplay his responsibility to represent his constituents through the voting process, but for those rare individuals like Galloway who are able to zero in on the target in their fiery speeches, they can be excused to trade off voting time for presentation time. His testimony before the USA Senate in 2005 was televised widely, and showed the American people how ethics and politics can be intertwined.

If more British and American politicians had had the guts to stand up and oppose the Middle Eastern wars as George did, thousands of USA and British lives would have been saved, trillions of dollars, and hundreds of thousands of Iraqi and Afghani lives would be saved. And he continues to oppose the buildup to war in Iran and Palestine. For that alone, he has earned a vaunted place in history, unlike the British stooges of Bush that you and your admirer mmartini54 adulate.
