Pop star Katy Perry despises the fame her chart success has brought her, insisting it's a "disgusting by-product" of what she does.
The Firework hitmaker has endured a tough few months following the breakdown of her 14-month marriage to comedian Russell Brand in December and she admits she's sick of critics commenting on her personal life.
She tells Teen Vogue magazine: "I'm tired of being famous already! But I'm not tired of creating. Fame is, I think, just a disgusting by-product of what I do.

"It's quite a delicate creature - it's a wild animal of sorts. It can love you, and then it can attack you... But really, I stopped focusing on what other people think a while ago. If you try to be everything to everyone, you'll only end up completely confused."
Perry admits she wants to continue to be "as approachable and relatable as possible", but she can't understand why some devotees break down in tears when they meet her.
She says: "When I meet fans and they're crying, I'll say, 'Calm down, there's nothing to cry about. I'm not going to bite you or attack you or grant you three wishes. Let's just hang out and have a good time.'"

The recent demise of the marriage of popstress Katy Perry and the infamous lothario turned devoted husband Russell Brand spurred inevitable public commentary and debate with media outlets ruminating over (and in some cases, dare I say almost celebrating) the latest celebrity marriage to fail. So newsworthy was the announcement of their divorce that within minutes the twosome became a national trending topic on Twitter.
So this is 2012. And reports today in Britain suggest Katy Perry, shock horror, chose her career over having a baby with Russell Brand... what right does anyone have to insist that a woman should put their partners needs to spread sperm before her own needs? This is not 1952.
Only he and KP know the finer details that have led to their split but I would no doubt assume the demands of Katy's career played a massive part. That, and perhaps the pressure to succeed Brand must have experienced in LaLa land.
I have no sympathy for Katy Perry. She gets paid a lot of money. She is constantly in the public eye. What does she expect? If you cant stand the heat -get out of the kitchen. We all have crosses to bear,famous or not!!
