How Well Do You Know Irvine Welsh? (QUIZ)

Posted: 17/04/2012 07:41 Updated: 17/04/2012 18:33

Irvine Welsh's Skagboys is the concluding part (we assume) of his most epic and well-known tale - that of the heroin addicted, psychopathic Edinburgh friends Renton, Sickboy, Spud and Begbie.

Above all else it's truly a novel for Welsh's fans - those who can't get enough of the gang they first met in Trainspotting 20 years ago, for whom the idea of a prequel is, well, jist pure barey Catboy, ken?

To mark its release, we've put together a fiendish quiz that encompasses Welsh's novels, short stories and his own life to separate the part-time fans from the true die hards.

Naturally, it contains some bad language. Good luck...

Good morning UK, from California

I must admit that I knew nothing of Irvine Welsh's writing until reading the article in this morning's edition of HUffPost UK. This afternoon I will visit my local Barnes & Noble to see if any of his books are on the shelf; if not, I'm sure they can be ordered.

The UK edition is emailed to me, and I thoroughly enjoy reading it. Today, it has introduced me to another interesting author. I'll be in touch with my own review - he does look promising.

Hi Patricia. Great to hear you're interested in Irvine's work - I'd fully recommend all of his novels, particularly this trilogy (Skagboys, Trainspotting, Porno), Glue and Crime. Enjoy.

Good morning samper...

I'm thrilled that someone who's famliar with Walsh's writing has confirmed what I expect to be a great experience. If I'm drawn into a story from page 1, then I know I'll enjoy several well-invested hours. I experienced that with 2 years ago with Stieg Larssen's Millenium trilogy. I still haven't had the courage to watch the film, The Girl With the Dragon Tatoo, but I am now re-reading that and will re-read the other two.

I've fanned you and would like very much if you will fan back. Your posts will appear on my Friends' Activities; I can then follow you. I'd also enjoy more recommded books.

thanks again.
