Mariah Carey: Twin Pregnancy Was The Hardest Thing I'll Ever Do

PA

Mariah Carey has fessed up that her pregnancy with twins Moroccan and Monroe was the hardest thing she has ever done.

Speaking to Shape magazine about shedding the post-baby pounds, Mariah admitted that being pregnant was 'hard'.

Mariah's babies will turn one at the end of this month, and she has lost a whopping 70lbs since their birth - initially losing 40lbs shortly after their arrival, and another 30lb through healthy eating and exercise.

She told the magazine: ''Pregnancy was probably the best and the hardest thing I'll ever go through. 'I know for a lot of women, it can be wonderful and relatively easy. But for me, it was like 'Okay, honey, do you have to do everything the hard way?'''

She says she has now changed her attitude to dieting because her body is different since having the twins, admitting she can no longer keep slim just through exercise.

''I used to be able to slim down just by exercising more, but that's changed," she said, "Since having the babies, I realise that 90 percent of losing weight is my diet.''

Mariah and her husband Nick Cannon will be having a TRIPLE celebration on the twin's birthday on April 30 - not only will they be marking Monroe and Moroccan's special day, but also their wedding anniversary. The couple plan to renew their vows, and have the twins involved in the ceremony.

Devoted daddy Nick said it was the couple's 'thing' to get married 'every year':

"I just have to keep doing it to make sure it's real! 'It's gonna be big. So it's a family day. We'll celebrate with them during the day and just the two of us at night.''

Do you agree with Mariah that it's tougher to shift the pounds post-pregnancy?
