Robin Gibb In Coma, While Brother Barry Sings To Him, And Family Keep Hospital Vigil

Robin Gibb's family and friends have been playing him music while he lies in a coma in a bid to bring him round.

The Bee Gees star's brother and bandmate Barry even sang to the former chart star when he visited him in hospital in London, according to Robin's wife, Dwina.

The 62-year-old has been in a coma since late last week after suffering pneumonia following intestinal surgery. He has suffered a number of health issues in recent months, including cancer of the colon.

In an interview with Enniskillen's The Impartial Reporter (www.impartialreporter.com), Dwina said the couple's children, RJ, Spencer and Melissa, had played music to their father to "try and bring him back to us".

She added: "His brother Barry, his wife Linda and son Stephen came over from America. Barry was singing to him. Thousands of people are saying prayers every day."

And The Sun reported today a source close to the family, saying that there had been flickers of life from the star, but that he was not out of the woods yet.

He is in a coma and is feeling no pain, and there is no hope for this great guy. Let him go with peace and dignity. I feel so sorry for the family as my father had cancer too.

POOR MAN-HE IS DYING,AND THEY SHOULD JUST LET HIM GO PEACEFULLY,AND ACCEPT THAT HE CANNOT BE CURED.I WENT THROUGH THIS WITH MY YOUNGER SISTER,AND IT WAS HEARTBRAKING,BUT IN THE END ONE HAS TO ACCEPT THAT TO PASS PEACEFULLY INTO DEATH IS BETTER THAN MORE SUFFERING WITH CANCER.

My thoughts with Robin and the family...and with everyone suffering this horrible disease. Hopefully the coma is just his body's way of taking a break to recover after everything he has been through- miracles happen everyday. Should he not pull through, at least they can rest assured he is in a better place with his brothers.

That's terrible I'm so sorry for your loss... and what a sweet sentiment considering what you've been through, I totally agree with you.

I, too, hope and prays he gets through this. You have to have experienced a tragic loss to fully understand what another person is going through and, sadly, you know this yourself.

It will destroy Barry if he loses Robin. To lose 3 brothers would break his heart.
Get well soon Robin x
