Appropriate Adult Beats Sherlock In BAFTA Television Award Nominations

The BBC's Sherlock and Channel 4's This Is England '88 have bagged three BAFTA Television nominations each - but ITV's Appropriate Adult is leading the way with four.

The three shows will go head to head for this year's leading actor award with Sherlock's Benedict Cumberbatch, Appropriate Adult's Dominic West and This Is England '88's Joseph Gilgun all nominated.

The Crimson Petal And The White has also received two nominations – for Best Mini Series and Leading Actress.

BAFTA's Arqiva British Academy Television Awards, which recognise outstanding achievement in television, will take place on Sunday 27th May. This year's awards will be hosted by Mock The Week's Dara O'Briain, in The Royal Festival Hall, London and aired on BBC One HD.
