Lindsay Lohan Puts Elizabeth Taylor Casting Criticism Behind Her As Father Defends Her

LiLo Puts Criticism Behind Her

A few eyebrows were raised when it was announced Lindsay Lohan was chosen to play Elizabeth Talyor in a new movie.

But she put the criticism behind her as she dazzled on the red carpet of Star magazine's All Hollywood event last night.

The Mean Girls star also proved exactly why she should never dye her hair that nasty shade of blonde EVER again, as her raven tresses stole the show.

It has been a tricky few days for LiLo, after her casting as the late Elizabeth in the TV movie Liz and Dick, attracted high profile criticism from US chat show host Rosie O'Donnell.

She blasted the decision during her appearance on Today, saying Lindsay was "not capable", "not right for the role" and "needs a lot of help".

Ouch, ouch, ouch.

But now her father has jumped to her defence.

"With that being said, is Rosie in any position to judge anyone? Failed marriage, two failed shows, slamming other celebs and high profile people. Please!

"My daughter and even I, may have had our issues in life, but it's about making things right and turning things around, right Rosie?

"I was and am the first one to point out my own faults, Lindsay's and even others' when we are wrong, but when we are not, I will fight tooth and nail for what's right!

"In this case, Rosie, you are wrong. So why don't you, and all in agreement with you, just sit back, shut up and see if Lindsay proves herself before blabbing your unwarranted opinions."

"It's hard to take these comments seriously considering they are coming from someone who just had her own talk show cancelled, but I guess she has to find a way to stay in the news, even if it is at the expense of someone else."

Miaow indeed.
