Whitney Houston will hit British cinemas for the last time in October as her final film, Sparkle, is released.

The star finished shooting the film shortly before her tragic death in February this year.

A clip of the late star was previewed at the CinemaCon convention, showing Houston dancing around the living room and flashing her signature pearly white smile.

In the film Houston plays a single mother of three girls. Her daughters form a girl group, which is destined for success before drug and alcohol addiction take hold.

The theme of the film echoes the unfortunate fate of Houston herself whose career was peppered with similar controversy.

A remake of the 1976 movie, Sparkle is Houston’s first film in 16 years. Her last film was The Preacher’s Wife, and her Hollywood debut came alongside Kevin Costner in The Bodyguard.

Sparkle will hit British cinemas on 5 October 2012.

I swear their supposed to be black Jordin and the other lead girl are mixed. Why can't America cast black girls in movie rolls?. Why are the mixed girls automatically prettier and more desirable?. Also, did they get the name Sparkle from Jordin Sparks last name?. That's pathetic.
