Papiss Cisse is good. His goal against Swansea and 11 goals in 12 games prior to Newcastle United's match against Chelsea in the Premier League last night made that apparent.
But then he scored that right-foot-left-foot goal to give the Geordies the lead. He had gotten better.
And then he scored that goal to double his team's lead. The technique, with the outside of his right foot, was matched only by his audacity to lob the 6ft 5ins Petr Cech from 25 yards.
It was so good even Blues striker Didier Drogba laughed in admiration with the Black and Whites manager Alan Pardew. It was a goal which no superlative could do justice to, apart from the immortal word of James Richardson: "Woof!"
The Senegalese has now scored 13 goals in 12 games since he arrived from Freiburg for £9.5m in January, and has overawed compatriot Demba Ba in the north-east.
Ba's scored the opener on Cisse's debut against Aston Villa on 4 February, with the latter scoring the winner in versus the Villans. The former however has not scored since for the Toon Army.
Cisse, 26, was hardly an unknown before he arrived in England, having scored nine goals in 17 games in the Bundesliga this season before his Premier League switch.
Ba, also 26, was plying his trade in Germany's top tier before his January 2011 transfer to West Ham United from Hoffenheim for £2.7m.
The Senegalese hit seven goals from 12 appearances for the relegated Hammers, before a free transfer north to Pardew's Newcastle.
He had scored 16 goals in 22 games this term until Cisse arrived, and has not found the net in his last 12 appearances for the fifth-placed Premier League side since.
There is such a word as "cissexual", described as "an adjective used in the context of gender issues to describe "people who are not transsexual and who have only ever experienced their mental and physical sexes as being aligned". It needs a new definition for Papiss.
And in tribute to the astonishing African, here's some other great swerving strikes...
