At the Kentucky Derby (the Louisville version of Ascot?), it's all about big hats and bright colours, if we're to gauge by celebs like Ginnifer Goodwin and Mary J. Blige, who both attended the races this weekend.

Ginnifer, who isn't afraid of bold colours, judging by her past fashion choices like this highlighter-yellow frock and neon pink Roksanda Ilincic dress, chose a colourful red dress with printed pastel pattern by Preen, which she teamed with Ann Taylor shoes, a Giuseppe Zanotti clutch and an oversized red hat from H&M (she recently wore a dress from the high street retailer for the White House Correspondents' Dinner in Washington, D.C.)

Mary J. Blige also went vibrant in head-to-toe red, including a rose and mesh-festooned hat, asymmetric red dress, red platforms and red satin gloves.
