Brit Award-winning singer Ed Sheeran made a dying fan's dream come true by giving her a personal bedside gig.

Late schoolgirl Abigail Fleming, 14, put together a list of wishes she hoped would come true before she died following a lengthy battle with cancer.

The teen wanted to be serenaded by the chart-topping star and also requested a hot air balloon flight and custard and jelly fights.
And the Lego House singer helped make one of Abigail's wishes come true by performing for her in hospital.

The musician visited Abigail on his day off at Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice in Sheffield.

Her mother Maria told The Sun: "She really loved it. He didn't just make her day, it made her life. He was a complete gentleman. He flew in from Paris to London and then caught the train to Sheffield. Abigail gave him a card and a key-ring to say thank you. He gave her a bracelet which somebody had given him for his 18th birthday."

Before her death, Ed also recorded a video message in an effort to keep Abigail's spirits high and offered her a free ticket to one of his concerts.

On hearing of Abigail's death last month, the saddened singer took to Twitter to to voice his respects.

He wrote: "Rest in peace Abigail, gone too soon. My love and thoughts are with the family."

Ed now plans to raise money for the cancer hospice.

After my lovely dad tragically died in November last year, we asked for donations in lieu of flowers to Bluebell Wood childrens hospice near Sheffield. Unfortunately most hospices depend on charitable donations for virtually all of their income. This restores my faith in human nature in the self-obsessed celebrity world in which we live. Her family will cherish these memories in the years that come.

Many could learn from this young mans actions.
Such a tragic story, with the loss of 14 yrs old
girls life, a brave girl also.
No doubt Ed,s actions made her end more bearable,
if i can describe it in these terms.
I take my hat off too this young man, it could not have
been easy for him either.
My condolences to all concerned, may she RIP.

what a wonderful gesture...making a dying girls dream come true...so often and rightly pop stars/celebrity's get slagged off for being self serving and shallow...but ed sheeran bless him,is the exception to the rule...hope he has as successful a career as a singer as he is a nice person...give him a gong...top man...respect..

This was a genuinely lovely act. It is a shame more "celebrities" can't fulfil peoples' wishes.
