Nope, this isn't a delayed April Fool's joke, Alex is really planning to follow in his ex-wife Katie Price's footsteps and launch a music career *reaches for earplugs*.
Announcing the jaw dropping news, his people posted on Twitter: "EXCLUSIVE NEWS: @only1alexreid can SING!! His debut single 'STARDUST' pre-releases on 1st JUNE. Its an uptempo summer anthem that'll make you feel good! Available at all online music stores including iTunes."
This is one musical assault we really can wait for. For a very long time.
He'd be better off lending his pipes to practising lullabies, seeing as he and fiancee Chantelle Houghton will be welcoming their first child into the world in less than a month.
Tweeting his excitement, he wrote on the social networking site: "Wow, this time next month, mini me might be here, I'm so excited. Can't wait! Mine me mini me mine me, love u love u love u! X."
We have a feeling he'll be a much better Dad than singer.
