Kerry Katona: 'I Thought I Would Die Before Amy Winehouse'

Kerry Katona has revealed that her drug taking was once so bad that she was convinced she would be outlived by Amy Winehouse.

Kerry - who has been clean for two years - told BBC Radio Five that she thought she'd never beat her battle with drink and drugs.

"The likes of Whitney and Amy back in the day - I really thought I would be first to die. I got massively lost in life," she said.

The reality star - who is rumoured to be opening a boot camp-style rehab clinic to help other addicts - turned to exercise in a bid to turn her life around but admitted she was 'high as a kite' when she turned up for her first bootcamp session.

"I went to boot camp and the first time I turned up there I was as high as a kite. A week-and-a-half through it, it was like coming out of a coma, the fog being lifted.

"Silly as this sounds, exercise changed my life. It was the first time I had a natural high."

It's not the first time Kerry has compared herself to the late Winehouse. In January she told Daybreak: "I look at the likes of Amy Winehouse, God rest her soul, and I found the strength to get out of the mess I was in.

"I have four beautiful healthy children, my career's going from strength to strength, and I'm happy and healthy and on top form."

Kerry stated recently she is on painkillers after her
tummy reduction, after recovering from drink and drugs,
addictions.
It just does not work that way, once recovered you
can never touch either again.
She should have the sense to have learned learn by now.
At the same time i do hope she can clean up her lifestyle,
she has four kids too think about.
Yes she has had an operation, could she not have moved
on without having too take painkillers.
Kerry would have sufffered more pain in childbirth.
