Will Smith slaps a reporter who tries to kiss him in Moscow

Will Smith lost his cool at the Russian premiere of his Men in Black 3 film in Moscow on Friday when a male reporter attempted to kiss the actor on the lips during a red carpet encounter.

The I Am Legend star was caught offguard when the unnamed Ukrainian journalist grabbed him and tried to land a smooch on the stunned actor before a pre-screening interview.

In video footage of the incident, Smith appears to shove the guy away, saying, "Hey man, yo man, what the hell is your problem, buddy?"

The angered Hollywood actor then gave the man a light backhanded slap on the face before moving on down the red carpet.

Apologising to his next interviewer, Smith said, "Hey sorry, he tried to kiss me on the mouth. Joker. He's lucky I didn't sucker punch him!"

The star then brushed off his concerned publicist and continued on with the press line, telling his rep, "It's all good."

According to TMZ.com, the Ukrainian reporter has made a name for himself trying to kiss celebrities he interviews.

Will is so cool dont you think,
Most of us have grown up with Will from the tv and I think his fans get what he did,
He prob feels a bit bad, but he wont let it get in the way.

Would you let some random dude kiss you on the mouth? I wouldn't and it has nothing to do with sexual orientation as you seem to suggest. Have you ever heard the term "familiarity breeds contempt"? If people respected one another's space, there would be so much less confrontations.

he was absolutely right to slap out. The kiss was excessive an uncalled for. Everyone has the right to slap out a kiss. It has nothing to do with what sex you are. It might have more than a little to do with the sex of the kiss attacker though. well done Will!

There was no attempt to kiss Smith on the mouth; the clip clearly shows him being kissed on both cheeks. It's a form of greeting not uncommon in other parts of the world between people of opposite and same genders. The problem was Mr. Smith's for assumed it was a sexual advance.

He reacted the way a hetrosexual man would; it would feel unnatural to him to have an unknown stranger kiss him on the lips. If an attractive woman tried to kiss him on the lips of course he wouldn't react the same way because as a hetrosexual man he would welcome the advance! Honestly people get real; some little twerp tried to get the best of Will Smith & failed! Because he didn't welcome an unsolicited sexual assault it doesn't make him homophobic; he in fact was quite a sport. Reverse the situation - would the reporter have tried to do this to Mike Tyson?

it was natural if he wasn't gay. Some guy tries to kiss me, he will get a whole lot more than a slap. He will get his head kicked in.

"Would Will have reacted in the same way if an attractive female had tried to kiss him?". My answer to you is I don't know. I am heterosexual, but would not let any random woman kiss me on the mouth unless I was OK with it. I have worked at a dentist's office before and know for a fact that there are attractive women with gum disease. That guy had no business assaulting Will Smith. And if you condone it, then I say you are the hater.

The reporter tried to force him into a kiss he did not want. Male or female, that's wrong, and constitutes an assault. And that was the lightest slap I have ever seen, in self defence.Very controlled, I would say. And Will tried to make light of it afterwards, with his customary sense of humour. No loss of face for Will, I would say.

Always thought Will Smith was over rated as an actor and a bit of a smug nonetity - however it's out of order for anyone to force themselves onto an unsuspecting person - even if they are Will Smith .

Will Smith is a great guy and NOT Homophobic at all. Ask yr self what u would have done if a strange man/woman had tried to force him/herself on u. He/she could have had a knife or sommat. So W S acted in self defence and good for him. He was very self controlled.
