Cheryl Cole Vows To Sing 'Call My Name' Live On 'The Voice' - But Is There Still Going To Be Autotuning?

The Voice: Cheryl's Going To Do It Live... Sort Of

Cheryl Cole has vowed to sing live on The Voice on Saturday night to avoid a repeat of the controversy which followed when she largely mimed during a performance on The X Factor in 2010.

The Geordie beauty will belt out her new track Call My Name in front of a studio audience on Saturday evening, half an hour before the show goes on air.

She's determined to sing live to avoid the same uproar from fans after she largely mimed her track Promise This on The X Factor two years ago - but The Voice bosses have reportedly considered using autotune before her performance is broadcast.

A source told The Sun: "Since then Cheryl has been working really hard on her vocals. Now she wants to sing live and prove herself as a professional.

"Everyone is supportive of her wish to sing live but just like when she was on The X Factor, her performance will be pre-recorded so there is a big safety net there.

"The show is called The Voice - the singing that they broadcast needs to be perfect."

Even Cheryl's manager Will.i.am admitted on Friday that he uses computers to perfect his notes. But last week Danny O'Donoghue, the rapper's fellow judge on The Voice, warned Cheryl: "You can't come on The Voice and mime. I won't be clapping if you do."
