Cheryl Cole Accused Of Miming On The Voice

Was Cheryl Cole Miming On The Voice?

After promising to sing live on The Voice, fans have accused Cheryl Cole of miming in her performance on Saturday night.

Dressed in a leopard-print top and colourful trousers, the Geordie star performed her new track Call My Name at the end of the talent show. But after she dived from a 10ft platform into the arms of 20 dancers and threw herself into an energetic dance routine, viewers were convinced she was lip-synching.

A source at the show said: "It would have been hard for Cheryl to have sung through the whole performance - it was such an energetic dance routine. But I'm sure people will be disappointed if they expected her to sing throughout."

While she received a standing ovation from the audience and judges, Will.i.am, Jessie J, Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue, TV viewers took to Twitter to accuse her of miming.

One tweeter wrote: "A bit embarrassing that she's gone on a singing show and mimed," while another said: "Blatantly lip-synching... Such an irony that she's performing on a show that promotes real talent."

Last night Cheryl's publicist said the star was singing into her microphone, adding: "She sang live with a backing track."
