'Prometheus': Ridley Scott's Latest Aliens Come To The UK - Can They Top These 5 Film Aliens? (VIDEOS)

Can 'Prometheus's Aliens Compare To These Freaky Film Creatures?

Prometheus, the most anticipated alien film in a decade (sorry, Men In Black III) and one of the biggest blockbusters of the year, is arriving in UK cinemas this week.

It's not just the all-star cast including Noomi Rapace, Michael Fassbender, Guy Pearce, Idris Elba, Logan Marshall-Green and Charlize Theron that filmgoers are excited about, this is also director Ridley Scott's first sci-fi film in three decades, since his 1982 Blade Runner.

Prometheus started out as a prequel to Scott's Oscar-winning 1979 sci-fi horror film Alien, starring Sigourney Weaver, and that unforgettable extra-terrestrial creature, however, it grew into its own stand-alone film with an estimated $120–130 million budget.

Will its terrifying futuristic 3D aliens match up to the top five classic creepy film creatures listed below?

E.T.

With his weird, long neck and enormous eyes, E.T divided opinion. Some found him cute but some were terrified. Everyone cried.

Predator

These strong, highly-skilled, intelligent warriors were brave enough to take on Arnie and looked hideous with their freaky-looking mandibles and fleshy dreadlocks.

Alien

Once you've watched the horrifying scene where an alien breaks out of John Hurt's stomach you'll never forget it. Even the eggs of the fierce-looking creatures looked disgusting, let alone their deadly secondary jaw.

The Thing

John Carpenter's The Thing may seem outdated next to today's CGI-created aliens but the creature, which has the unique ability to alter its cellular structure and take on the form of any organisms it consumes, is still singularly horrific.

Jabba the Hutt

Slimey-tongued, frog-eating Jabba from Star Wars: Return of the Jedi is one of the most memorable film aliens. It's hard to forget a slug-like body like that, even if you didn't have to perform for him like poor Leia.

Prometheus will be released in cinemas 1 June in 3D nationwide.
