Claire Danes Pregnant: Actress Expecting First Child With Hugh Dancy

There must be something in the water, as fresh from Matthew McConaughey's announcement he is to be a dad for the third time, Claire Danes has revealed she is expecting a new arrival too.

The Homeland actress has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Hugh Dancy.

A representative for the couple confirmed the happy news to US magazine, People.

She previously admitted she was keen on becoming a mum when the mag spoke to her last year, saying: "There's definitely a chance [of falling pregnant], [but there are] no plans yet. But yeah, that'd be fun."

She and British actor Hugh first met five years ago and married in France in 2009.

Claire - who has also put her $6m New York apartment on the market - recently credited Hugh with keeping her happy.

She told The Sun earlier this year: "My mother Carla taught me that a long marriage can work. My parents have been together since they were 18 so I am privileged to have them as role models.

"I like marriage. I feel very secure. It helps when you are in love with the person you are married to.

"I do sometimes look at him and think, 'You are really handsome.' He keeps me sane and happy."
