'Mummy Porn' Novel Fifty Shades Of Grey Sparks Pregnancy Boom

Is 'mummy porn' sensation Fifty Shades of Hype – sorry, Grey – about to backfire in the bedroom?

For lust-filled women are getting PREGNANT after reading the steamy best-selling novel – and as we all know, there's no greater passion-killer than a screaming baby!

The over-hyped book – read by millions of drooling women and half a dozen cowering men – is said to have revived ailing marriages and turned suburban bedrooms into torture chambers.

And it is expected to spark a baby boom in nine months' time, according to experts.

Professor Ellis Cashmore, expert in Culture at Staffordshire University, said: "With the millions of copies it has sold - it makes complete sense to assume that in nine months time we are going see a baby boom. "

My personal theory is that the fellas are deliberately impregnating their women so they can take off the handcuffs and get back to watching the telly.

One dad, Mike Baldwin, from London, said: "My wife hasn't stopped banging on about it since it came out. The other day she came home with some sex toys and a beaming smile on her face. But quite frankly, it's off-putting."

But Professor Cashmore said the book is inspiring more passion than dousing it.

"By the very nature of the subject matter I'm sure we can expect to see some couples revisiting and reigniting ideas that may have lay dormant for some time in the bedroom," he said.

"It may reawaken passions or just accentuate the passions that already exist within relationships."

The first book in the trilogy by author EL James has sold 10 million copies worldwide - outselling Dan Brown's The Da Vinci Code and even JK Rowling's Harry Potter books.

Professor Cashmore said: "Previously we have seen a spike in pregnancies during World Cups but this time it looks like the girls are being inspired to get into the bedroom.

"It is a very sexy book, from what I have read, nothing too over the top graphically - but it has struck a chord by exploring the women's mind in sexual situations, from their point of view.

"It is already quite a phenomenon, every woman is talking about it - whether it be in the gym, at work, on the bus or even in the supermarket.

It's not a difficult equation: more sex equals more pregnancies, which equals more babies.

Backing up the professor's theory, expectant mums claim to have fallen pregnant with 'Fifty Shades Babies' (I know, I know...try to hold on to your breakfast!)

One mum-to-be on a baby forum said: "My baby will be a Fifty Shades baby for sure. And I am damn proud of it."

While another wrote: "I would like to thank the author of Fifty Shades of Grey for our newest edition."

Wonder if any of these celebs have read Fifty Shades of Grey?
