Having brightly coloured hair is so on trend right now (hello Katy Perry and Kelly Osbourne).

But one person we didn't see opting for a vibrant hue is One Direction's Niall Horan.

The boybander tweeted a pic of himself, eyebrow raised, with a swirling purple quiff. But for those who love his blonde locks, fear not. It appears the purple is just bleach.

The star isn't the only one to be bleaching his hair of late, Tulisa turned up to legal proceedings surrounding her sex tape sporting a blonde barbie style hairdo.

The One Direction blondie is hitting the studio on Thursday afternoon after returning from the US.

"Whats up guys! Just woke up! Got a good sleep! Feelin good! Studio this afternoon!" he tweeted.
