Kim Kardashian Is In Trouble With PETA Again After She's Spotted With Crocodile Birkin Bag

At first glance you'd think that Kim Kardashian didn't have a care in the world.

Just look at her - chilling on a yacht in a leather-look swimsuit and heels (natch) doing her best Bond girl impression.

But sources reveal that there's a lot more going on than meets the eye.

The star is in trouble with PETA again after being spotted with a Birkin crocodile skin handbag.

It wouldn't be the first time the star has locked horns with the animal rights organisation, Kim was flour-bombed earlier this year by an activist linked to PETA.

As a result of the attack Kim's sister Khloe, who was a strong supporter of PETA and even posed for them naked in a campaign, parted ways with the organisation. PETA denied having anything to do with the incident despite offering to pay the activist's legal fees.

In a statement, PETA said: “For every alligator or crocodile-skin accessory, an animal was likely beaten but still conscious and able to feel excruciating pain as his or her skin was peeled off.

“These animals feel fear and pain and they don’t want to die. Alligators and crocodiles have no real legal protection, but they have done nothing to deserve the violent treatment that they endure.

“PETA urges consumers to watch Joaquin Phoenix‘s video expose of the cruel exotic-skins industry and vow today never to buy items made from the skin of alligators, snakes or crocodiles.”

Most of the crocodiles and snakes are farmed for food as well as their skins. I don't really see the difference between them and a cow. PETA have a long history of wildly exaggerating claims about animal cruelty and they often anthropomorphise matters way out of context.
I watched the video. Just because a celebrit can read something from a script, it doesn't make it correct. The twitching heads are most likely biological reactions of nerves in the process of rigor mortis. If you sever the spinal chord, death is usually very quick. That heart was still beating after being removed due to independent nervous actions showing that muscles can move after death, independent of the brain.

You say most are farmed for food as well as their skin, where do you get this information so i can have a look??? Im not a vegetarian and have no objection to eating these animals, i do however object to living things being killed for their skin, isnt this what the nazis were doing. In todays world is it really necessary to wear the skin of an animal when there are so many synthetic alternatives available. Killing an animal to make a handbag or a pair of shoes is disgusting wether you eat meat or not, and wether the animals death is humane or not makes no difference.

I have eaten both crocodile and snake in Thailand and Vietnam. I have also seen a crocodile farm. It was not at all squalid and over stocked. I have worked in animal husbandry and I can say with experience, that in the vast majority of cases farmers want to keep their animals as healthy as possible in the best conditions that they can possibly achieve. If animals are unhealthy, they do not grow plust the quality of the meat and I assume the skin also, would not be very good. They also do not want to lose animals to disease. It is most important, that if an animal is going to be slaughtered for food, that every part of that animal is used for maximum resource efficiency. You could equally ask yourself that it is not necessary to eat meat at all because there are many vegetarian/vegan alternatives. Just because your ethics tell you that something is wrong, it doesn't mean that everyone thinks that way. Why would Oriental ethics be less worthy than Western? To compare what nazi Germany did during a genocide is not a legitimate comparison.
