Firstly, let us begin by saying that all this year's Olympians, and all the London 2012 workers, volunteers and organisers, have been amazing. Our hats are very much tipped to you, for this has been one of the best-run Olympic Games of modern times [cue stirring music], and our hearts swell with pride at just how bloomin' brilliant it's all been.

And it's a testament to that very fact that we found it hard to find evidence of anything going, well, wrong, at London 2012.

Still, nobody or nothing can be perfect - so we thought that we'd take a lighthearted look at some of the moments that didn't go quite so well. From flag mix-ups to bike pile-ups, from Jeremy Hunt to Boris Johnson, here were a few of them... And here's to crossing our fingers that the closing ceremony won't provide any more.
