London Olympics Closing Ceremony: Russell Brand Ripped His Trousers Right Before Performing

Get Him To A Seamstress!

British funnyman Russell Brand's psychedelic performance at the closing ceremony of the London Olympics got off to a disastrous start when he ripped his trousers before his big moment.

The Get Him to the Greek star delivered a rendition of The Beatles' I Am The Walrus in a Willy Wonka-themed set in front of an 80,000-strong crowd at the event on Sunday.

But Brand's showcase ran into trouble before he was due on, when he suffered a wardrobe malfunction and trapped himself in the door of his huge multi-coloured bus.

He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I felt all right until I ripped my trousers just before I went on, and then my foot got caught in the trap door on top of the van, so it could have gone downhill from there. It was brilliant, I really loved it and I was so happy to be a part of it."
