Bob Geldof Says It's 'A Relief' To See Daughter Peaches Married

Hello

It's always a bit of a worry what your dad might say come speech time on your wedding day, and probably a whole lot worse if he also gives interviews to the media after the event - especially if your dad is Bob Geldof!

In an interview with Hello! magazine who covered Peaches Geldof's nuptials this weekend, Sir Bob said it was a 'relief' to see his daughter married!

The obviously-proud dad also added that her wedding had been a 'beautiful day, in all senses of the word. I am happy for them. I love seeing people in love.'

Peaches said she believed her late mother Paula Yates was watching over her as she wed Thomas Cohen at the St Mary Magdalene and St Lawrence Church in Davington, Kent - poignantly, the same church where Paula was married and had her funeral. Paula died of a drugs overdose in 2000 when Peaches was 11.

Peaches told Hello! "I feel her presence all the time but especially today. Mum loved family celebrations and she would adore Tom and the fact that we've married here. I know that she is watching over me and feeling so happy for us."

The bride wore a custom-made Alberta Ferretti gown for her big day, and was attended by seven bridesmaids, including her sisters Fifi, 29, Pixie, 21, and Tiger, 16.

She and Thomas's five-month-old son Astala was also present, and their eight-month old Golden Retriever, Parper, was the ring bearer.

The reception was held at her dad's country home, Davington Priory, and said Peaches, it lived up to her vision of a 'a country wedding meets Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream'.
