Emile Heskey touched down in Australia ahead of starting pastures new with Newcastle Jets, but his partner Chantelle Tagoe experienced an indifferent beginning after she lost a ring.
Upon the couple's arrival at Sydney International Airport, while Heskey was mobbed by reporters and supporters his girlfriend fretted over the whereabouts of what would have likely been an expensive rock.
However much to Miss Tagoe's relief, the ring was reclaimed by a member of staff, which she gratefully accepted.
The Jets will become Heskey's sixth club he will have played for having played for Leicester City, Liverpool, Birmingham City, Wigan Athletic and Aston Villa.
