Things really aren't going well for Lindsay Lohan at the moment.
Fresh from facing charges as part of a hit and run accident, the actress has found herself at the centre of yet another drama after allegedly being attacked by a man in her New York hotel room.
The evening took a turn for the worse when the Mean Girls star noticed pictures of herself on Christian LaBella's phone and challenged him about them.
It is then alleged that he became angry and began choking the star, throwing her to the ground before Lindsay's pals pulled him away.
Police were then called after LiLo activated the hotel's fire alarm, and LaBella was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of assault and two counts of harassment.
Of the fracas, a spokesperson for the star said: “Lindsay was assaulted early this morning in a New York hotel. While she did sustain some injuries, she was not hospitalized.
“The assailant was arrested and is currently in police custody. Lindsay has spoken with police and is fully cooperating with the investigation.”
However, later on it emerged that the charges against LaBella had been dropped due after a lack of evidence to support LiLo's claims.
Her spokesperson said: "We think it's both distressing and outrageous. Lindsay was assaulted and there needs to be a consequence for that."
Meanwhile, the star has hit out at TV star Dr Phil after her mother made a disastrous appearance on his US chat show.
Dina Lohan behaved erratically during an interview where she hit out at the criticism she faces over her parenting skills.
Defending her mother, Lindsay tweeted angrily: "@DrPhil You should be ashamed of yourself. What kind of man takes advantage of a woman @her most vulnerable state? YOU are the fraud."
