A 65-year-old grandfather has been fined £355 after he 'snapped' in a pub and threw a pint of beer over a baby.
Danny Polak saw red when 15-month-old Finlay White began to cry in the Ernehale pub in Arnold, Nottinghamshire on June 11 this year.
Finley's mum, Rachel Atkin, 25, was sitting near Polak and his wife with her sister-in-law. She left the table to order food from the bar when Finley got upset.
The Drinks Business reports that Catherine Picardo, prosecuting, said that Finley started to whine when his mum left the table. It was then that Polak approached and poured the contents of his half-full pint glass over the child's head.
The court was told that when Finley's mum confronted Polak, he kicked her up the backside and told her 'you shouldn't bring kids in a pub'.
The outraged mum responded by throwing her own drink at Polak shouting: "See how you like it."
Polak, 65, of Sherwood, Nottingham, fled the scene and was later arrested.
He admitted two counts of assault at Nottingham magistrates and was fined a total of £355 and ordered to pay £50 compensation.
His lawyer Maria Bines said that her client 'accepts that beer went over the baby and that his actions were reckless.'
