Pippa Middleton: 'Receiving Global Recognition For My Bottom Is Startling'

'Receiving Global Recognition For My Bottom Is Startling'

Pippa Middleton and her bum became 2011's biggest new celebrity when her tight dress caused a stir at Kate and Wills' wedding, but the Duchess of Cambridge's sister has admitted she struggles to make sense of being recognised.

Pippa, who has just written her first book Celebrate: A Year of British Festivities for Families and Friends, has revealed that she finds the attention surrounding her (and her derriere) "strange".

Writing in the party planning book, she said: "It’s a bit startling to achieve global recognition (if that’s the right word) before the age of thirty, on account of your sister, your brother-in-law and your bottom.

"One day I might be able to make sense of this. In the meantime I think it's fair to say that it has its upside and its downside."

She continued: "I certainly have opportunities many can only dream of – but in most ways I'm a typical girl in her 20s trying to forge a career and represent herself in what can sometimes seem rather strange circumstances.

"But I can assure you that it feels even stranger to me than it probably does to you to have seen so much written about me when I have done so little to paint a picture of myself."

The book deal is rumoured to be worth £400,000 and it is thought Pippa won't be doing any promotion for it at the risk of compromising the Royal Family.

So she won't be able to tell us more about Kate dressing up as Cheryl Cole on her hen do then. Sadface.
